Brandstorm 2018: Next Generation Innovations For The Salon Of The Future

L’Oreal is known as one of the biggest brands when it comes to beauty. Aside from providing quality beauty products, L’Oreal also aims to empower the talents of people around the world by providing globally-competitive campaigns that to shape the future of beauty.
This year, in partnership with L’Oreal Professional Products, students from all over the Philippines were given a challenge of innovating customer experience for the professional salon of the future.
Brandstorm started in 1992 and present in 60 countries. To date, it is the largest student competitions in the world and has been a training ground for some of the most promising talents in ten industry. In the Philippines, L’Oreal has mounted the annual business competition since 2009.
For this year, Brandstormers were tasked to re-imagine and re-invent the professional salon experience of the future by creating breakthrough innovations that combine the application of the most modern technologies aimed to attract and engaged millennials and also to increase hairdresser’s loyalty.
Now on its 10th year in the Philippines, Brandstorm 2018 surpasses last year’s sign-ups for the first nationwide run and mounts the second biggest Brandstorm in the world. This year’s competition has more than 3,500 participants from over 30 universities in the country.

Out of 1,100 teams, only 24 moved forward to the semi-finals held on March 1. The top 8 teams were selected to battle it out in the National Finals and get the chance to represent the Philippines in the Worldwide finals in the city of lights, Paris. These are the 8 selected teams:

7. Team Totally L’Oréal from University of the Philippines – Diliman
8. Team TS1 from University of the Philippines – Diliman
