3 Things To Consider In Buying A Car

by - June 03, 2022

The pandemic that hit the world two years ago did not only affect our health but so many aspects of our daily lives – transportation, fuel hike, increase in prices of goods and the list goes on. As a travel blogger with an active lifestyle, being stuck at home most of the time, either because it is not safe to go out due to the spreading virus or due to transportation issues, has affected my way of life. Before the pandemic, I can freely commute from one place to another by utilizing public transportation available like buses, jeepneys, and cabs. It was just last year that I decided to purchase my own car so that I can travel with ease. More and more people preferred to have private transportation rather than availing of a public transport system.

For someone who does not know anything about cars aside from the fact that they can take me from point A to B, it was a bit challenging for me. I made my own research, read online forums, and asked my friends who are into cars before I made my purchase. With that, I am sharing 3 things to consider in buying a car.

When buying a car, ask yourself what is the reason for buying one. Will it serve as your daily means of transport to bring you to the office and back home? Will this be for personal use? In my case since I am working from home, my reason for getting a car is for personal use so I can take myself and the kids to the mall and for a staycation in nearby places. Instead of risking our health by using public transport, I decided to get our own car.

The next thing to consider is the type of car. Since I am only sharing the car with my two kids, a sedan will be a good option. Consider how big your family is in choosing the right size of the car. This is to ensure safety and comfort. As for the transmission, I opt for an automatic car so it is easier for me to drive around. The traffic situation in the city makes it difficult to carry a manual vehicle. With an automatic car, driving is easier and more relaxed.

And finally, consider your budget for buying a car. If you are making a car loan, make sure you can afford the monthly amortization and have enough budget for car maintenance. To help you figure out your car loan, you can search for an online calculator like https://www.carpaymentcalculator.net/. It helps calculate payments, creates a loan amortization schedule, and gives you the recent auto loan rates in just one click. And with the fuel prices that go higher every so often, it’s good to know that this online calculator site also provides a gas budget calculator. This helps to estimate your annual gasoline cost given the type of car you drive. Aside from being a useful online calculator, Car Payment Calculator also offers entertainment in the form of free online driving games.
