5 Things To Do In Malaysia

by - May 26, 2022

I have always been vocal that Malaysia is my happy place for many reasons. The majority are Muslims but not very strict and you can wear your usual outfit, just make sure to wear something decent and not revealing if you plan to visit mosques, temples, and other religious places as a sign of respect. Last April, Malaysia finally opened its door to tourists after almost two years of closing its border. And if you are planning to visit Malaysia, here are 5 things you can include in your to-do list.

1 ) Visit the Petronas Twin Towers
Your tour in Malaysia will not be complete without dropping by the  88-story twin towers. The iconic Petronas Twin Towers are joined by a flexible sky bridge on the 42nd floor with each tower's floor plan forming an eight-pointed star, a design inspired by traditional Malaysian Islamic patterns. The twin towers are the home of Petronas, Malaysia's oil and gas power company and it is where you can find Suria KLCC, one of Malaysia's best shopping malls, Aquaria KLCC, Malaysia's finest oceanarium, and KLCC Park which have been designed to provide greenery to the twin towers complete with a Symphony Lake feature. To date, Petronas Twin Towers remain noteworthy as the world's tallest matching pair of buildings.

3 ) Take A Sidetrip To Langkawi
Langkawi is located on the west coast of Malaysia and is famous for its white-sand beaches with crystal clear waters, refined rainforests, and superb duty-free shopping! According to the folklore, Langkawi's name came from two Malay words – 'helang' (eagle) and 'kawi' (reddish brown): hence lang-kawi. The emblem of Langkawi is the white-breasted eagle. From Kuala Lumpur, you will need to take a 1-hour flight. A long stretch of restaurants bars, and souvenir shops can be found on the island which makes it even more convenient for tourists and locals visiting the island.

4 ) Take Photos In The Colorful Batu Caves
Batu Caves is a limestone hill with a series of caves and cave temples in Gombak, Selangor, Malaysia. It is one of the most important Hindu sites in the world and is famous for the 272 colorful steps and the 140 feet gold-painted statue of Murugan, one of the tallest statues of a Hindu deity in Malaysia. This place is visited by thousands of pilgrims during the Thaipusam festival
