The Famous Takoyaki Balls and Other Japanese Treats From Octoboy

by - July 23, 2018

I am not a big fan of Takoyaki. What’s so special with vegetables and diced octopus, made into balls then topped with sauce? So when this Takoyaki craze started, I did not understand why everyone is going crazy! And soon, a lot of Takoyaki stands came to existence.

It was a friend of mine who introduced me to the best tasting Takoyaki in town. When she let me try it, surprisingly it tadtes really good that I have to go back and order mine. I have tried several Takoyaki but none measured up to the taste of that Takoyaki. Curious as to what Takoyaki brand is my favorite?
Octoboy has changed my perception about Takoyaki. And who would have thought that a small Takoyaki stall will evolved into a Japanese Restobar?
The interior will give you a feel of a typical Japanese pub where people would hang out after a stressful day in the office. Here are some of the things you need to try at Octoboy.

Octopus Takoyaki
Six large balls of Octopus pieces and vegetables made into balls using flour batter, topped with bonito flakes with Japanese mayonnaise and okonomiyaki sauce. Unlike most Takoyaki that I've tried, Octoboy's Takoyaki is made with lots of real octopus!

Chicken Ass With Garlic Cloves Yakatori
Grilled marinated chicken ass with garlic cloves.

Chicken Liver Bacon Yakatori
Grilled chicken liver wrapped in bacon  with sweet soy glaze sprinkled with spring onion.

Shrimp Filled Takoyaki
Just like the Takoyaki you know but topped with pork floss.

Bacon and Cheese Takoyaki
Crispy bacon and creamy cheese made into balls with mayo and Takoyaki sauce and pork floss.

Double Spicy Tuna Roll
Spicy tuna with sweet inari and mango covered with  a common Japanese spice mixture, togarashi.

Salmon Uniaburi
Torched Salmon roll with Uni sauce topped with flavorful chorizo bits.

Tuna Ceviche
Fresh tuna sprinkled with crispy ham, grilled green bell-peppers, mango cubes and red onions bathed in Yuzu Aonori sauce.

Baked Seafood Doria
Bacon ketchup rice loaded with shrimp, salmon cubes and squid, topped with cheese and baked to perfection. This is a new addition to their menu and this is a must try!

Sizzling Angus Ribeye Steak
One of the newest offering from Octoboy, this tender beef is served with buttered corn, onion leaks and fried garlic.
