Smile Train Partners With Seda Hotels To Brig More Smiles This Christmas Season

by - November 19, 2018

Christmas is a time for sharing our blessings. It is a time of giving and showing love to those around us. This year, Smile Train partners with Seda Hotels to bring more smiles to children. Smile Train is the world's leading cleft charity who has been giving hope to children with a cleft lip for two years now. All Seda properties will be participating and selling Smile Train ornaments and Christmas
cards at their locations to benefit the charity, including the newly opened Seda Ayala Center Cebu and
Seda Lio in El Nido, Palawan.
"During the first year of our partnership, the Seda community raised enough funds to help support
more than 30 surgeries. We are positive that we will be able to help more children this year," said Mr.
Brett Hickey, Group General Manager of Seda Hotels. "As Seda continues to engage in a number of
CSR activities, we would like to give our guests and employees the opportunity to help change the
lives of many Filipino children with clefts especially during the holiday season."
The event was made even more special as Seda Vertis North officially lights it’s Christmas tree on November 16. During the event, the spirit of Christmas can already be felt with hot chocolate and gingerbread being enjoyed by all attendees, while the Seda staff are singing Christmas carols in the background.
As a way of showing their gratitude, the Smile Train cleft patients sang Christmas songs.
An art exhibit was also hosted by Seda Vertis North. Proceeds will be given to Smile Train so more children can undergo the operation. The artists include: Sinag De Leon, a UP Film Institute artist who specializes in making art out of paper cut-outs, Ivy Lim, a full-time artist with a background in fine arts who is celebrated locally and internationally for designs and packaging of fast-moving consumer goods, Roberto Sanchez, a DJ and entrepreneur by trade, but creatively a self-taught artist; Jirawat Pramphet, a Thai artist with shows in Cambodia, the Philippines and Bangkok and Art fit Pansuay, an award-winning Thai artist whose work is currently featured in an exhibit in London. You can check out the art exhibit until December 9 in the North lobby of Seda Vertis North.
