Butamaru Is Now Open In Ortigas

by - October 01, 2017

Still can't get enough of the ramen craze? If you are a fan of Japanese foods, then Butamaru should be your next food destination.

Last August, Butamaru opened its second branch at Technopoint One, Home Depot in Ortigas. It can accommodate 64 people including eight outdoor sitting. Butamaru serves traditional Japanese foods. Buta literally means “pork” in Japanese and Maru means “round”. It can be noted that Butamaru rose to fame because of it slow-roasted, melt-in-your-mouth round pork that makes ramen more flavorful.
Butamaru’s passion for ramen led them to come up with the perfect ramen that will surely be enjoyed by ramen fanatics. The ramen preparation begins with a 16-hour tonkatsu broth preparation. They have mastered the art of making noodles from Master Artisan Sugimura of Menko Noodle Company who has more than 40 years of experience in supplying ramen noodles in Japan. The round chashu is slowly roasted until it is soft. The meat is so soft and tasty. Butamaru's executive chief, Jerome, even studied in Japan Kyushu Island just to perfect their ramen. Kyushu Island is a place in Japan known for its Hakata Style Ramen

Interior

The interior of Butamaru would make you feel as if you are in Japan. It has a lively and vibrant ambiance that is similar to a Japanese gastropub atmosphere. It has a festive mood that makes eating more fun.
At the second is a much spacious space with an eye-catching wall filled with photos of Japan.
Chairs and tables are made from high-quality woods which makes the place look classy. Aside from pin lights, hanging lights eluminates the place with just the right amount of light, not too bright and not too dim either.

Must Try:
Curry Gyoza PHP150
Japanese dumplings made from juicy pork with shredded cabbage seasoned with garlic, ginger, sesame oil and soy sauce. Our favorite Gyoza just got better with a hint of curry. It’s flavorful but the curry is just right and does not overpower any of the ingredients.

Katsu Gyozayaki
A hybrid of three well-loved Japanese favorites Katsu, Gyoza, and Takoyaki. This ball-shaped appetizer is crunchy and oozing with flavor.
Ramen
Shiyo PHP310
Shio means salt and is known as the oldest ramen broth. Shio broth is either made from chicken or pork. It is characterized by its salty taste and clear yellow soup.
Shoyu PHP340
My ultimate favorite ramen. A soy sauce based ramen characterized by its brown broth. It comes with Chashu or meat that is boiled for hours.
Kaisen Php380
This seafood ramen is overflowing with fish, prawn, and seashells and bathed with umami-filled broth. Perfect for those who do not eat pork.
Curry Tantanmen PHP370
Tantanmen is a recent addition to the ramen family. The heavy broth is made by combining sesame paste, chili, and curry. This is the perfect ramen for all those who love spicy foods.
