Sedap: Serving Traditional Singaporean and Malaysian Cuisines

by - July 13, 2017

Ever since the food park craze started, I am always in search for food stalls that would satisfy my taste buds. I am usually undecided and confused as to what foods to try. Although going to food parks can be extra challenging in deciding what to eat, I am thrilled with the idea of patiently going to each stall until I see something I fancy.  My taste is more on salty and spicy foods, very seldom with sweets and sour dishes.
And as I slowly search for a new food place, I landed at Foodtrip in Marikina. Unlike most food parks, Foodtrip is not too big and the place has a relaxing ambiance. I like how that big mango tree gives out a refreshing feel and the lights that hung from it are an added beauty as soon as the dark set in. Another good thing about Food Trip is the variety of foods available. These are foods that can't be found elsewhere which are good for someone like me who is a bit adventurous when it comes to foods.
In one corner of Foodtrip food park lies Sedap.    Sedap literally means delicious or tasty in Malaysian. True to its meaning, Sedap serves traditional Malaysian and Singaporean cuisines that are really good. I can't remember the last time I tried Malaysian or Singaporean dishes but I do remember that these foods are spicy which I do love.
Sambal Sotong
This dish consists of fresh squid or calamari that is cooked in sambal sauce. PHP200
Pedas Kepah
A dish that mainly contains mussels sauteed in garlic, onions, and ginger and topped with chili and thinly sliced lemon. PHP200
Bah Kuh Teh
Bah Kuh Teh or stewed pork comes with a clear and peppery soap. It is best paired with rice and the taste is completed by lots of ginger, chili, and lemon. PHP220
Pedas Udang
Also known as spicy sambal shrimp. PHP230
Hainanese Chicken Rice
This is probably the most popular Singaporean dish that I have tried. This food as adopted from Chinese immigrants and is one of the national dishes in Singapore. Chicken ate stuff with green onion and sliced ginger and bring to boil. It comes with a chili dipping sauce and is best eaten with rice. PHP220
Crispy Roasted Pig
This is a twist to the usual lechon that we know. The roast pig is sliced into strips and wrapped in malunggay wrapper together with cucumber slices and Wansoy or parsely. PHP280 (200 grams)
