Ragnarok is the first MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games) that glued many eyes on their personal computer. Ragnarok introduced Filipinos to the world of gaming and friendly competitions. The game is so famous in the country and paved way for gaming cosplay, Ragnarok Online was also made into a 26-episode anime series.
The comeback is real! The Ragna Festival was held at SM North Edsa Annex on May 7, Sunday. As expected, the venue was jam-packed with new and long time fans of Ragnarok. They did not mind falling in line for hours just to support the comeback of their favorite role playing game.
The Ragnarok Festival is the first Ragnarok online gaming event in years and it promises to be the most memorable yet. The festival featured everything about Ragnarok Online (RO). The recent event includes Cosplay performances, Ragnarok Online-inspired contests and community-centric competitions like RO headgear design and fan art. Ragnarok ranked number 1 as the most popular game in Taiwan and Thailand. After its relaunch in Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia and the Philippines, it is expected to rank first again in the world of online gaming.

Ragnarok Online closed its servers a few years ago and according to Gravity CEO Kitamura Yoshinori, they are developing new content made  specially for the Filipino fans. Gravity Co Ltd was established in April 2000 and was the one behind the international success of Ragnarok Online.
Local bands like Sandwich and Imago performed during the event and both bands are self-confessed MMORPG fans.
